You should speak to your personal dentist to find out their preference. In general a child can begin seeing a dentist once the first tooth has erupted. Some dentist prefer to wait until the child is 3 years old.
Remember that your child’s first visit to a dentist is more to help your child get accustom to the dentist than it is for any real procedures. The first visit should always be a pleasant one so they do not fear the dentist in the future.
Cavities in very young children have become a serious problem. There are several ways to prevent this from happening with your child. Your dentists will educate you on preventative measures. During this visit, your dentist will teach you the proper way to brush your child’s teeth.
